One of the main problems I used to have with c-bets was that I used them every single time I raised before the flop. It was just what I believed - what kind of whimp would make a raise before the flop and then check? It just didn't seem right to make a preflop raise without a continuation bet.

Master the basics. There is so much to be said in life if you just master the basics. Stop trying to get fancy and fabulous straight up. Perfect your pre-flop game, perfect your betting strategy, perfect calculating odds, master reading players, master putting and opponent on a hand.

As well as forcing yourself to play aggressive by only betting or folding, it makes you think about your game a lot more. All of a sudden, you aren't going in to pots with poor cards, you aren't going to the showdown with just a top pair and you aren't making as many mistakes. This is because you will naturally play better poker because you know you are going to amp up the stakes.

Firstly, have confidence in yourself. If you've been playing poker for a while, you're probably naturally aware of players who continue to limp into pots and then just call any raises. It smells of slow play, which usually means that you're being led into a trap by an opponent who is trying to get the most out of his monster hand. In normal poker games, you'd be advised to check and possibly fold if your opponent put in a big raise... but not when you're playing against fish.

Another betting strategy in an online poker tournament is to stop the chasers by putting the pot odds against them. Lets say you have AK and the flop comes AK9 and two are suited. Now you will need to bet an amount that will deny your opponent 3 to 1 odds in order to chase his flush which is the likely chasing hand here or maybe a open end straight draw. So lets say you bet making the pot odds 2 to 1 and he chases it. Sometimes you will have to fold because he will hit but he will only hit 4 out of 1 times or so. Therefore this play will show a profit for you if he continues to chase and you should eventually come out ahead.

Know when to hold 'em and when to fold'em. As a player you need to learn the best time to fold a hand in online poker. You will not know how to win online playing every hand. As every profession poker player say, liat ini winning or losing depends mostly on the player and not just luck.

The third mistakes players often make is they don't have any sort of betting strategy. Do you know how much you plan to bet in what positions and with what cards? Do you have a plan on how much you are going to bet regarding your stack size and your opponents stack sizes?
