There are two basic strategies that work in Sit n Go tournaments. Tight aggressive(TAG) and loose aggressive (LAG) are strategies you must be familiar with and able to play if you want to be successful.

In reality, "clever" plays should be used only every once in a while. It shouldn't be the norm. In general, bet the value of your hand. If you have trips, bet out. If you have nothing and your opponent bets, fold.

Being able to correctly put another player on a hand and know what cards he has is what separates the winners from the losers. It's what makes the professionals the pros and the amateurs going home broke at the end of the day.

Another tactic to use it by really pushing forward with a relentless aggressive betting strategy. It takes a little bit of faith but I find this tactics pays out more than almost any other.

This can also involve semi-bluffing, bluffing, bullying/scare tactics, reading tells, giving off voluntary tells etc.
