본문 Cultural Appropriation and Donkeys
No matter whether you see it as an ancestor or Mother-In-Law a descendant domestic donkey (Equus africanus asinus) is one of the hoofed mammals of the family of Equidae. Originating from Africa, the domestic donkey is derived from the African wild ass. Depending on the species domestic donkeys may be classified either as a subspecies or as a separate species. Arse vs. Ass "Arse" is a British Slang term that refers to a "stupid person", but it could be used as a synonym for "ass". There's a bit of confusion here since both are derived from the horse-like animals. In the USA the proper term for Mother-In-Law a donkey is "Ass". Arse was originally an inoffensive term that refers to an element of the body. However it has since become an unpopular term. In the 19th century'ass was a term that evolved as a variant of arse. It was originally used to describe a group of horselike animals however, in the 1860s it was transformed into a slang word for an a posterior. It is also used in the expression "to go around'. "Ass" is also used in the phrase 'to make an ass of oneself', which has a connection with 'to arse about'. There are many meanings to arse, none of which are mentioned in 'ass'. Appropriateness in popular Culture We often see cases where the dominant culture takes elements from a minority's culture. This practice, known as cultural appropriation, can cause feelings of disrespect in minority groups. Whether it is wearing the traditional Native American headdress at a music festival or wearing blackface for Halloween, many Black people feel that it is a form of patronizing behavior. In addition to adopting aspects of minority cultures A dominant group may also make use of intellectual property belonging to the minority group. This is done via blackfishing, for example. It is important to keep in mind that people of color have a history of being marginalized and disenfranchised. Consider, for example the history of the marginalization of black people when you see someone wearing an outfit that resembles blackface. |
